The Basketball Association of Newcastle Limited is the major organiser and
promoter of basketball in the Newcastle Region. The Association owns and
operates a six-court complex at Broadmeadow, the ‘nerve-centre’ of sport in the
Hunter. The Main court has a seating capacity of 1,700. The Stadium is also used
for other indoor sports such as volleyball, floorball, netball and futsal
(indoor soccer). Competitions are conducted seven days per week - 49 weeks per
year. In excess of 6,000 people use our complex each week - over 300,000 per
year. Our Junior Representative teams, the Newcastle Hunters compete in a
regional Central League with the opportunity to progress to State and National
Championships. Our Senior Representative Teams, the Newcastle Hunters play in a
Statewide Competition.
