NAGS HEAD SIGNS WITH HUNTERS FOR 2 YEARS

03/03/2010

The Newcastle Hunters are very proud to announce the Nags Head Hotel, Adamstown has signed as a major sponsor for the next 2 years.

After a number of years supporting the Hunters, the Nags Head has put pen to paper on the 2 year deal after a great 2009. The agreement will see the Nags Head Hotel extend their sponsorship with the Hunters which began in 2008.

"It's great to have the Nag Head Hotel increase their support for the Hunters", said Newcastle Basketball General Manager Ivan Spyrdz, "and it's provides the Hunters Basketball Club a great base for social activities outside of the stadium.'

Located just 5 minutes from the Newcastle Basketball Stadium, the Nags Head Hotel has been integral in the rebuilding of the Hunters Club culture, and has provided a great post match meeting place for players and supporters alike.

"The Nags has great facilities, wonderful restaurant and is very family friendly. This is certainly important to us a club as we searched for a venue to continue to reinvigorate a great basketball club spirit and a good fit for both parties," said Spyrdz.

The new agreement will also see the Nags Head Hotel as the back of shirt sponsor for all the seniors teams in the Hunters program for the next 2 years.

"The timing of our new playing gear, this agreement lent itself to really reinforcing the commitment from both parties to the success of the Hunters program," said Spyrdz, " and there is no doubt the players will look very sharp in the new gear, but also very confident being backed by a great sponsor such as the Nags Head."

Also as part of the partnership, the Hunters will once again be conducting the Hunters Friday Night Raffles at the Nags commencing Friday 5 March and through to end of August, with players from the Waratah League women's and men's team in attendance to run the raffles.

"The Friday night raffles are really becoming a great weekly social event for basketballers in Newcastle, and we invite everyone who is or who has been involved in basketball over the years to come along, you never know who might be there," Spyrdz said.

The raffles commence from 5.30pm every Friday night and there are 2 draws of 5 meat trays held, the first at 6.30pm and the second at 7.30pm.

With the announcement of the Nags Head Hotel as exclusive hotel partner of Newcastle Basketball and the Newcastle Hunters, there are a number of other great initiatives in the pipeline for players of basketball in Newcastle to be released soon.

"We are very proud to be associated with Newcastle Basketball and the Hunters," said Nags Head Hotel Publican, John Bale, " and we are keen to continue to build on the great support the basketball community has shown us. We are keen to see as many basketballers in the hotel as possible, and really make the Nags Head the home of basketball in Newcastle."
