The Newcastle Hunters ABA teams will take on Northern Suburbs Bears in the last round of the Waratah Conference regular season this Saturday 31st July.
The Hunters men who are currently on 11 wins and 8 losses have already secured a final six spot, but can finish as high as 4th with a win and favourable results in other games.
The Hunters will be hoping to build some momentum into the finals after a narrow loss to minor premiers Manly , 84-90 last Saturday, and will also be keen to avenge their 69-74 loss to the Bears on 22nd may in round 14.
North’s (8-11) are out of playoff contention and will be hoping to play the role of spoiler for the Hunters.
The Hunters women sit in 7th position, but can sneak into the top six with a win over wooden spooners North’s (0-15) and at least one favourable result.
In round 14, the Hunters disposed of the Bears 71-47 and last week showed they were a genuine contender with a hard fought 72-62 win over.
This will be the final regular season home game, however both Hunters ABA teams are aspiring to make it to the final 4 weekend, which is being hosted by Newcastle Basketball on 14th & 15 August.
