Prospective 2010 Junior Hunters players will have their last chance to impress the selectors this Saturday morning 6th Febraury in the Hunters Intraclub Challenge.
The remaining squads will be divided into 2 teams, and will play a full match, with uniforms, referees and score table officials.
“This will be an important part of the selection process”, said Basketball Development Manager Trevor Gallacher. “Seeing the players compete in a real game context can give you a lot of useful information that you don't get in the training situation.”
“Such things as game preparation, concentration and understanding a game plan are very important, but difficult to gauge at practice.”
“Successful players are able take all that they have learned, and apply it successfully on the court. We place a great emphasis on the effort level, teamwork and decision making ability of players in the game context.”
All teams (division 1 & 2) will be selected after this game.
Players will be notified on Monday 8th February, and the teams will be listed on our website on Wednesday 10th February.
