BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION OF NEWCASTLE LIMITED
The Basketball Association of Newcastle Limited (BANL) is the organiser and promoter of basketball in the Newcastle Region with over 2,000 registered and playing members.
The BANL owns and operates a six-court complex at Broadmeadow, the 'nerve-centre' of sport in the Hunter, including a Main Court with a seating capacity of 1,800 for showpiece events. In excess of 6,000 people use our complex each week - over 300,000 per year.
Learn to Play, Rookies, Holiday Clinics, Junior Club and Senior Social Competitions are conducted 49 weeks per year for players aged 6 and above.
The Stadium is used for a variety of indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, floorball, netball and futsal (indoor soccer) and hosts major local, state and national touraments in a variety of sports.
The Newcastle Hunters are the representative team of Newcastle Basketball with Junior teams competing in a regional Central Junior League (CJL) and the opportunity to progress to State and National Championships.
Our Senior teams play in a NSW Statewide Competition known as the Waratah Australian Basketball League (WABL).
