Falcons sign Chier Maker for 2026 NBL1 East Season

The Newcastle Falcons are excited to announce the signing of forward Chier Maker ahead of the 2026 NBL1 East season.

Maker most recently competed with the East Perth Eagles in NBL1 West, where he showcased his versatility and scoring ability throughout the 2025 campaign.

The 29-year-old forward brings size, athleticism and offensive firepower to the Falcons roster. During his time with East Perth, Maker demonstrated his ability to impact games in multiple ways, averaging 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game across the season.

Standing at 6’8”, Maker provides valuable length and flexibility in the frontcourt, with the ability to stretch the floor, attack the rim and defend multiple positions.

Newcastle Falcons Head Coach Josh Morgan believes Maker will add important depth and versatility to the squad heading into the new season.

“Standing at 6’8”, Maker adds valuable length and flexibility to our frontcourt,” Morgan said.

“He’s capable of stretching the floor, attacking the rim and defending multiple positions, which gives us another dynamic option heading into the upcoming season.”

The Falcons continue to build a competitive roster for the 2026 NBL1 East campaign, with Maker’s addition strengthening the squad with a player who brings experience from one of the country’s strongest NBL1 conferences.

The Falcons open their home schedule on Saturday, 28 March, hosting the Norths Bears at Newcastle Basketball Stadium.
