Newcastle Basketball wishes to extend its gratitude to Kristy Bultitude who steps away from the position as Head Coach of the NBL1 Women after successfully leading the team for the last two seasons.
During her time as Head Coach, Kristy guided Newcastle to consistent success, highlighted by the 2024 NBL1 East Championship and qualification for the National Finals. The team also reached the Preliminary Finals in 2025, cementing Newcastle’s place as one of the league’s strongest women’s programs.
Before taking on the Head Coach role, she served as an assistant coach for two years within the Falcons program, helping guide the team to the NBL1 East play-offs in consecutive seasons.
A Newcastle junior, following her playing career Kristy’s coaching experience spans more than 15 years across junior representative, NSW junior and school representative levels, as well as almost a decade working within Basketball NSW’s high-performance program.
“Kristy’s dedication, professionalism, and passion for the game have made such a positive impact on our program and athletes,” General Manager, Sara Jiear, said.
“We thank her for her outstanding contribution and wish her every success in the future.”
Newcastle Basketball will shortly commence the process of appointing a new Head Coach ahead of the 2026 NBL1 East season.
