EAST COAST MASTERS UPDATE
AFTER the success of Newcastle Basketball’s East Coast Masters tournament in 2018 and 2019, we were looking forward to continuing this event and finding a regular place for it on our calendar, but lockdowns and rules around COVID made it impossible for us to conduct it in 2020 and 2021. We had hoped to bring back the East Coast Masters in 2022, but due to an increased demand for Basketball across the Newcastle Community, we are unable to find a suitable weekend.
We hope you are not too disappointed and thank you in advance for your understanding.
Nominations to our Summer 2022 Senior Competition will open in August for those teams that may like to join any of our existing domestic competitions.

2021 EAST COAST MASTERS CANCELLED
NEWCASTLE Basketball has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 East Coast Masters, scheduled for September 11-12 at Newcastle Basketball Stadium.
The surge in COVID-19 cases, lockdown restrictions affecting Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour LGAs until August 28 at the earliest, and interstate border closures have left us with no other practical option.
As some teams have already booked accommodation and flights, we have made this decision now to give those teams time to make the necessary cancellations. All team nomination fees will be refunded and we apologise for any inconvenience.

2020 EAST COAST MASTERS – CANCELLED
Newcastle Basketball has made the tough decision to cancel the 2020 East Coast Masters scheduled for September 12-13.
A range of restrictions relating to the Coronavirus outbreak has left us with no option so we don’t compromise on what has been a great event for the past four years.
As some teams have already booked accommodation, the decision has been made now to give those teams time to make cancellations. We will refund nomination fees to teams who have already paid.
We have scheduled the 2021 East Coast Masters for September 11-12, so please save the dates. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to running a bigger and better tournament next year, hopefully free of the restrictions we currently face. See you in Newcastle.
