Kobe Shannon is back in 2025

The McDonald’s Newcastle Falcons are pleased to announce the return of Kobe Shannon for the 2025 NBL1 Season.

The 23-year-old guard played his first season with the Falcons in 2024 and made solid contributions across the board. Kobe’s a strong shot creator and facilitator, and averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

While with the Falcons Kobe has not only been a valuable asset on the court, but also within the community, making a positive impact on our junior development program.

Prior to joining the Falcons, Kobe was named Waratah Youth League Most Valuable Player and made the Youth League All-Star Five in 2021 while playing for Bankstown. He also had a stint at Midland University in Nebraska.

“I feel fortunate that Kobe has agreed to play here again this coming season,” Head Coach Josh Morgan said.

“His willingness to return speaks volumes for the Club, and the feeling is mutual. We know far more about him now than we did 12 months ago, and vice versa, and I believe we as a team, and he individually will benefit from that continuity.”

“Kobe has a high ceiling in terms of his offensive and defensive output, and with his length, athleticism and fitness, we hope he can elevate his game to another level this year.”

“I know our players are happy to have Kobe back. He is a great person and that’s who we want representing our club in NBL1.”

The Falcons men and women will play their 2025 season home opener on Saturday 29 March against the Sydney Comets at Newcastle Basketball Stadium. See the full 2025 NBL1 East Draw HERE.
