Falcons add Claudea Waihape-Andrews

The McDonald Jones Newcastle Falcons welcome Claudea Waihape-Andrews to the Club for the 2025 NBL1 Season.

The 21-year-old is currently signed as a Development Player with the Canberra Capitals, a position she has flourished in for the past two WNBL seasons. She is playing alongside Nicole Munger and Meg Jefferson who are also a part of the Falcons 2025 squad.

Following high school, Claudea competed with the Canberra Nationals Academy in Waratah Women’s division, winning the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022. She has spent the last couple of seasons playing NBL1 with the Nationals and averaged 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds per game last season.

“Claudea will bring experience in what it takes to compete at a higher level. She’s committed, tough and tenacious,” Head Coach Kristy Bultitude said.

“She will provide extra strength and rebounding prowess and is a solid all-rounder that adds depth to our squad.”

Watch Claudea and the Falcons in action during their first home game of the 2025 NBL1 season, on Saturday 29 March against the Sydney Comets.
