Hannah Chicken Returns to Falcons Before Embarking on US College Journey

The McDonald Jones Newcastle Falcons are excited to announce Hannah Chicken will return for the 2025 NBL1 Season.

The 18-year-old Newcastle junior had a breakout season in 2024, playing an integral role in the team’s success. Hannah averaged 10.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists, while averaging an efficient 49.5% from the field.

The 6’0 forward didn’t just make an impact on the offensive end and was named the 2024 Falcons Defensive Player of the Year.

As a result of her strong performance on court over a number of years, Hannah has been rewarded with a scholarship to attend Portland State in the USA. She will play with the Falcons until her departure.

“With the excitement of announcing a scholarship with Portland State, we are thrilled to see Hannah continue her journey with the Falcons before embarking on her college career,” Head Coach Kristy Bultitude said.

“Hannah cemented her starting five position last season and truly excelled at every aspect of her game.

She is a strong competitor who contributes at both ends of the floor and should not be underestimated by any opponent.”
