The Newcastle Falcons are excited to confirm the return of home-grown talent Ryan Beisty for the 2026 NBL1 East season.
A consistent force in the Falcons lineup, the 6’7” forward was named to the NBL1 East All-Star Five in both 2022 and 2023 and delivered another standout campaign in 2025. Beisty averaged 14.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, continuing to make a major impact at both ends of the floor.
Beisty developed through the Newcastle junior basketball system before furthering his career in the United States at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He later gained professional experience with the Plymouth Raiders in the British Basketball League before returning home to represent the Falcons in NBL1 East.
Falcons Men’s Head Coach Josh Morgan said the Club was thrilled to secure the talented local early in the off-season.
“We’re extremely pleased that Ryan has committed to the Falcons for 2026,” Morgan said. “As everyone knows, Ryan is quietly spoken, but he consistently leads through his actions — in games, at training, and off the floor.”
“He embodies everything we value as a club: an incredible work ethic, competitiveness, and humility. Players who can have such a strong influence at both ends of the court are rare, and we know our supporters will be excited to see him back in Falcons colours this season and beyond.”
Beisty said returning to Newcastle was an easy decision.
“I’m very happy to be back playing for Newcastle,” Beisty said. “The team and the club mean a lot to me, and I take a lot of pride in representing them.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Beisty is focused on contributing to a successful campaign.
“I’m excited to help build a team that the fans will really enjoy watching.”
The Falcons men and women will tip off their 2026 NBL1 East home season on Saturday 28 March against the Norths Bears at Newcastle Basketball Stadium.
